Fish landings on the up again at Buckie Harbour

OVER 400 boxes of fish were landed at Buckie Harbour over the course of last week.

In all eight vessels landed some 413 boxes of fish/prawn/squid alongside 103 bags of clams.

This compares to 344boxes and 269 bags the week before.

Taking their catches ashore at Buckie were: Pegasus; Boy Sam; Lily Oak VI; Brantia; Deeside; Our May; Flourish; Star of Annan.

On the cargo front, the Dutch-registered MV Anita, which had arrived in Buckie on July 29 importing malt from Antwerp, sailed on August 2 to make the return journey carrying 2308.06 tonnes of barley.

On the same day the MV H&S Fairness (Dutch) docked, importing 2072.76 tonnes of malt from Hamburg before sailing light to Ghent on August 4.
