RESIDENTS at two Buckie care homes enjoyed a 'pawsome' day out as staff competed to see which of their dogs was best in class.

Staff at Parklands and Burnbank care homes decided to hold their own fun version of Crufts.

The crafty canines navigated a series of obstacle courses to see which was top dog.

There were quite a few 'wooftastic' performances from the furry contestants over the course of the event, and a great deal of fun was had by all.

Lisa Toogood, activities co-ordinator at Parklands and Burnbank care homes, said: “The dogs were so friendly and playful and the residents loved hugging and playing with them.

"It was a bit of fun for the dogs but I think some of the staff took it more seriously!

"All the dogs received well deserved chews and biscuits as their reward.”

Parklands and Burnbank residents enjoy regular events and visits, their last day out seeing them head for Byers Farm in Fochabers where they had the opportunity to pick sunflowers.
