Deadline looms for Findochty pontoon project consultation

THE clock is ticking to submit views on plans to instal new pontoons at Findochty Harbour.

Moray Council are intending to put new pontoons in place which will have a maximum capacity of 90 boats. The old pontoons, which have been stripped out, were a the end of their working life.

The replacement pontoons have an estimated lifespan of 50 years, with the decking envisaged to have a working life in the region of 15 years.

Boatowners and members of the public have until May 14 to submit their views.

As Covid restrictions mean Moray Council are unable to hold public consultation events there is instead an online survey, which can be accessed via https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BDZ877Z

Subject to weather and other factors the £560,000 project is scheduled to get under way from the middle of May, with work expected to last for approximately 10 weeks.
