AP Systems, run by David Anderson, may have had to close his Grant Street retail shop but that has not dented his desire to do his bit to help the community.

He said: "While the shop is closed business is ongoing and I'm still doing IT for existing local clients while working from home.

"When the lockdown period was extended I thought I could do my bit for the wider business community.

"Lots of people from different walks of life have been going the extra mile and I want to hep those firms whose staff are working from home.

"In normal times a typical company's office would fill up with people at 9am who would then work away on their computers. a lot of this work can be done from home but it does require two things – some infrastructure in the office and some in the home, for example making sure the employee has a laptop to use for their work.

"Technology has moved on to the stage where nine out of the ten things required to make this happen can be set up without having to leave my own office, which means social distancing rules are adhered to.

"It's a win-win situation."

Mr Anderson is offering up to three hours of free services to those businesses who currently have no facilities in place to enable their workforce to work from home, as well as supplying up to 10 laptops and five printers at cost price.

Mr Anderson, who is from Portknockie, set up AP Systems back in 1985 and since then has developed a wide and loyal clientele base.
