THE pandemic may have muted the usual level of Mother's Day celebrations but it did not stop the residents of two Buckie care homes making the best of the event.

With visiting by relatives and friends is still very much in the early stages of being re-introduced on an incremental basis, staff and residents at Parklands Burnbank and Netherha decided to have their own parties to mark the big day for mums everywhere.

At Netherha an afternoon tea party was the order of the day, with residents tucking in to a cuppa and an array of fancy pieces. Gifts from family, including cards and flowers, were on display.

Meanwhile, over at Parklands Burnbank, the residents were presented with tea boxes containing a number of tasty goodies. The gents were not left out of the festivities, enjoying an afternoon beer and some chocolates.
