Community thanked in search for Findochty man

POLICE have thanked members of the public for their help in the search for missing Findochty man John Loughrie.

John (51) was last seen on Sunday, February 9.

Officers, joined by Coastguards and other colleagues, conducted extensive searches within the area of Findochty.

Inspector Keli McPhail, of the Forres and Speyside Community Policing Team, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their assistance and patience whilst there has been an increased police presence in the area.

“We will continue to act upon any information received regarding John's whereabouts, which will remain as an open missing person enquiry."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2740 of February 9, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
