GRASSROOTS groups across Moray are being encouraged to apply for funding through a National Lottery initiative.

Moray groups are being encouraged to apply to the National Lottery Community Fund.

The Community Fund aims to support communities to improve the places in which they live and the wellbeing of those most in need.

However, the National Lottery, via tsiMoray, have indicated that applications from Moray are low, meaning groups and communities could be missing out on much-needed cash grants.

To qualify, projects have to give everyone in the community the opportunity to influence and get involved in community-led activity.

As a result of the funded initiative people in the target community are better connected and work together to improve their wellbeing.

Grants range from £10,001 to £150,000.

More information on the scheme and eligibility criteria are available at www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk
