A BUCKIE area community council is desperately seeking new members to avoid folding.

Portknockie is on the lookout for more community councillors.
Portknockie is on the lookout for more community councillors.

Two resignations have left Portknockie Community Council (PCC) below the minimum number of members required to operate. Should replacement members not be found quickly, the organisation will be forced to close.

At least two new faces are required.

There are a total of 10 seats on the community council.

Anyone interested can either private message the remaining PCC members – Gladys McKenzie, Cathleen Harper and Bert Reid – on Facebook or email Jane Martin, the Community Council Liaison Officer, at Jane.Martin@moray.gov.uk

To be eligible, prospective community councillors must live within the boundary of the community council they wish to serve on and also be registered there on the electoral roll.

Further information on the community council scheme and the duties of community councillors is available on the Moray Council website
