The funds in both Buckie and Findochty still have money available to distribute this year, and Councillor Tim Eagle (Buckie, Conservative) has urged eligible groups and individuals not to miss out on the chance of a cash boost for their coffers.

He said: “We are lucky to have available to us in Buckie the common good fund.

"This fund is available to support services and projects that benefit the community in Buckie, in the past a wide range of projects have been successful. The application process is very simple and it is the local councillors who decide the outcome.

"Following coronavirus it is more important than ever that we look to support the community. Whilst a range of funding has been made available to support Covid-19 response I hope this funding might be useful to help local clubs, teams, schools and groups to get back on their feet or do something they have always wanted to do.

"The Buckie pot of funding for this year stands at £26,722.

"For the first time we also have a small pot of common good available in Findochty. Totalling £965 I welcome applications from Findochty groups as well.

"For more information please do get in touch with me and I will be pleased to help.”

Councillor Eagle can be reached by phone on 07980 898289, email him on tim.eagle@moray.gov.uk or write to him at c/o Members' Support, Moray Council, High Street,

Elgin, IV30 1BX.
