COVID restrictions have made their mark as to how schools can celebrate various important events in the calendar.

However, youngsters at Cluny Primary were not going to let the safety regulations put a complete dampener on their plans to celebrate the birthday of Scotland's Bard, Robert Burns.

Classes throughout the school had the chance to learn more about the life and work of Scotland's most celebrated poet, who produced internationally famous works as A Man's a Man, Ae Fond Kiss and, of course, For Auld Lang Syne.

Among the activities held in school was the chance for pupils to design their very own tartan.

There was also a chance for young Jai Slater, a pupil in P5Y, to show off his skill with the bagpipes.
