NORTH-east community groups still have time to apply to a fund supporting the advancement of community development.
The Mary Salmond Trust, which was set up by former First Minister Alex Salmond in memory of his late mother, is offering grants of up to £500 to groups based in the north-east.
The trust aims to support community development by encouraging activities that have a public benefit, as well as projects which focus on children and young people’s health and welfare, training and education, civic responsibility, and volunteering
Both groups and individuals from the region can apply for funding from the trust.
The deadline for applications is Monday, September 20 with the trustees due to meet three days later.
