In all, a total of 16 vessels landed their catches at Buckie.

Some 566 boxes of fish, prawns and squid were brought ashore, which was almost twice the previous week's tally of 236 boxes.

Meanwhile, there was a rise in the number of bags of clams landed, which came to 422. This is up from 225 bags recorded over the week prior to this.

The boats landing were: Illustrious; Jackdaw; Lily Oak VI; Boy Sam; Flourish; Amaraya; Chloe Ella; Deeside; Friendly Isle; Cam Alert; Cam Bountious; Summerton; Aranatha; Conquest; Emerald Dawn; Moray Endeavour.

It was a quiet week when it came to cargo vessels visiting Buckie Harbour, with none tying up at the port.

The week before, however, saw two boats – the MV Sarah B (German) and the Dutch-registered MV Smaragd – tie up at Buckie.

The MV Sarah B arrived on October 11 from Antwerp and imported 1472.08 tonnes of malt before sailing light to the North Sea on October 14 for orders.

While not importing any goods, the MV Smaragd exported 2900 tonnes of malting barley to King's Lynn on October 16.
