Run by the Buckie and Findochty Corps of the Salvation Army, the food packages provided by the food bank have

come to play an increasingly vital role in the lives of local people

Salvation Army Major Bruce Smith, one of the local Corps officers, said: "With many people self isolating and others having to survive on reduced income.

"As a result, 203 food parcels have been delivered to feed a total of 519 people in the Buckie area in the past two months alone.

"Local support has been immense and is gratefully appreciated. A small group of volunteers has been maintained to allow as many people as possible to stay at home, so that this emergency can be over as soon as possible."

Anyone needing help is encouraged to contact Buckie food bank on (01542) 832790 or by private message via the Buckie Salvation Army Facebook page.

Packages are generally designed to provide enough food to last for three days.
