From 10am to 12 noon at the South and West Church people will have the chance to find out more about the Peoplehood Project, which is run by Blackwood Scotland

Over some cake and a cuppa, there will be a chance to find out more about the scheme, which is a three-year programme aiming to create neighbourhoods for independent living for older people.

Buckie is one of three areas – the others are in Glasgow and Dundee – where Blackwood are pioneering their Peoplehood vision. Although the smallest of the three areas, the charity says that the town and surrounding area has unique challenges of its own, such as rural location, frequency of public transport and wifi strength.

In addition to explaining the benefits of Peoplehood, Blackwood will be hoping to learn from local people really takes to develop thriving, healthy neighbourhoods of the future.

The event is being supported both by the South and West Church and the 1st Buckie Company Boys' Brigade.
