STAY local and help out – that is the opportunity people from a variety of local postcodes have thanks to a bold scheme from a Cullen hotel.
The tough new ‘circuit breaker’ coronavirus restrictions in force until the close of Sunday, October 25, will severely limit the options open to those wishing to enjoy a meal out and a drink.
However, the Seafield Arms Hotel in Cullen, in conjunction with the Banffshire Advertiser, Banffshire Herald, Banffshire Journal, Huntly Express and Northern Scot, has hit on the ingenious idea of Stay Local and Help Out.
Hotel deputy manager Ailie Flett explained: "Stay Local to Help Out offers you the chance to pay your own postcode – if you live in the area between AB45 and AB56 you can, with a dining reservation, book a night's bed and breakfast and the price you'll pay is the same as your postcode. IV postcodes pay a flat £59.
"The price is based on two people sharing an urban-style room.
"So, if you live in AB45, for example, you'll pay £45.
"It means that you can dine here after 6pm and sit in our lovely heated outside area and enjoy a drink until 10pm."
Upgrades are available to different style of rooms for a small fee, with guests also able to choose a full Scottish breakfast over a Continental one, again for a small extra payment.
The offer runs from October 9 to October 25.
This promotion is not available on social media.
