"WE'RE back, but it's not business as usual" was the stark warning from Buckie High rector Neil Johnson as the school prepares to welcome back students for the first time since March.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) marks the return of students to their desks and while social distancing requirements are not in force within the classroom for the young people attending the spectre of Covid-19 regulations still looms large.
Mr Johnson said: "The pupils will return on Wednesday but I make no apology for reiterating that it is not a case of back to normal or business as usual.
"The school will look and feel very different.
"We've been working very hard on how to safely move students around the school, social areas aren't going to be in use and intervals and lunchtimes will be staggered.
"We're asking parents wherever possible and feasible to encourage their children to go home for lunch rather than staying at school. Social distancing may not apply in the classroom but that's a different story outside.
"There will be class time spent disinfecting surfaces such as desks at the beginning and end of each lesson. Every area of life at Buckie High will be impacted."
Schools across Scotland were shut in march in a bid to help stem the spread of the coronavirus.
