A PHOTO in a recent Window on the Past section in the Banffshire Advertiser has jogged a memory or two for a reader.

In the July 28 edition of the paper one of the photos featured a presentation, thought to have been captured for posterity in 1969 or thereabouts. However, beyond that, nothing was known about the photo.

Step forward reader James Young, who recognised the gentleman in the photo as none other than his father-in-law Tom Morrow.

He said: "It is of the occasion of a presentation from the staff of the Clydesdale Bank, Buckie to Tom, who was accountant at the branch, on his promotion to manager of Lossiemouth branch.

"Tom subsequently returned to be manager at Buckie until he retired in 1981

In the photo Tom is being presented with a gift by Margaret Reid.

Unfortunately the town's long association with the Clydesdale Bank was severed when the Buckie branch closed its doors for the last time on May 10, 2017.
