STUDENTS who have just received their SQA exam results are being urged to utilise Skills Development Scotland’s (SDS) results helpline.

Results from this year's exams – the first since 2019 – were issued on Tuesday, August 9 and Banffshire and Buchan Coast MSP Karen Adam has highlighted that SDS have expert advisers who have access to information regarding course vacancies at colleges and universities across Scotland.

They can also help with UCAS’s Confirmation and Clearing, Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships and jobs, and opportunities for volunteering or staying on at school.

SDS wants to ensure that as many pupils, parents and carers as possible are aware of the helpline and the support it can provide. The helpline will be staffed by SDS advisers from across Scotland, who will support young people to explore their options and next steps – whatever their results.

Ms Adam said: “Whatever your results are there is undoubtedly a good future ahead for you.

“If you or any loved ones have questions or would like some support, please contact Skills Development Scotland on 0808 100 8000.

“I’ve worn many hats on my path to becoming an MSP. I was a cleaner, hairdresser junior, domestic assistant at ARI, and a youth leader. There’s no wrong path to your personal academic or career goals!”
