FIRE-LIGHTING, knot-tying and whittling are just some of the survival techniques being taught in a woodland skills session near Turriff on Sunday, August 28.

The event, organised by Aberdeenshire Council’s ranger service, begins at 10am at Delgatie Castle car park, and ends at 3pm.

Adults and older children are invited, and places must be booked on 01358-726417 or 07786 021780.
