Warden suffers dogs' abuse

THEY arrive like a small army in their cars every morning, like clockwork.

Then they let their dogs out.

And like clockwork, the dogs leave their mess around the Banff Links Caravan Site and the surrounding beach and grassland.

Sadly, only a minority clean up after their animals, according to site warden Veronica Johnston – and it is driving her to distraction.

"The problem really is getting out of hand," she told ‘The Banffshire Journal’. "It is not just the morning culprits; dog owners bring their pets down here at all times of the day.

"The animals are often off the lead, which they shouldn’t be, and all too often the owners are not picking up after them.

"I have seen dogs leaving their mess right by caravans, and I’ve even seen one doing it in the children’s sandpit.
