Series of break-ins in Banffshire

GRAMPIAN Police are investigating a series of break-ins in the Banffshire area.

Between 5.30pm on Friday, August 19 and 11.30am last Wednesday, three separate incidents occurred at a construction site in the Walker Avenue area of Banff.

Building materials, including piping and tools, were stolen. The items are worth a low three-figure sum of money and damaged caused was estimated at a low four-figure sum.

At the town’s Alberta Place, a break-in occurred at a home between 7.30am and 6pm last Wednesday.

A quantity of alcohol was stolen worth a two-figure sum of money and damage caused was estimated at a three-figure sum.

Campbell Hospital in Portsoy also fell victim between 6pm on Sunday, August 21, and 8pm last Tuesday.

A vehicle was seen nearby and police are keen to hear from anyone who have seen anything suspicious.

Banff police constable Ewan Ross said: "We are keeping an open mind as to whether these incidents are linked and I urge anyone who has seen suspicious vehicles or activity in the Banff or Portsoy areas, or who may have been offered items for sale which they suspect may have been stolen, to contact us."
