Planners support harbour proposal

Organisers of the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival are among the objectors to the proposed building, which would be situated in the foreground of the picture.

IT IS a proposal which apparently does not have a single friend in Portsoy.

However, a bid to build self-catering accommodation and a boatshed on a vacant site at the town’s A-listed Old Harbour is being backed by Aberdeenshire Council planning officials.

All of Portsoy appeared to be against the proposal for the three-storey building when it was first revealed last year.

It did not gain a single supporter, while provoking new fewer than 78 objections, including the council’s harbour service.
