A GROUP of young singers known as The Inspire Choir is providing an impromptu performance of music and song at Duff House in Banff on Saturday, October 1.

The popular local choir has been invited by the North-east visitor attraction to take part in a nationwide promotion which aims to provide events and activities for older people. The aim is to get active and as part of the promotion, Duff House will celebrate UK Older People’s Day 2011 on the same day by offering free entry to anyone aged 60 or over.

During the afternoon the choir will perform a number of informal songs for the enjoyment of visitors as they wander around the rooms.

Rachel Kennedy, general manager at Duff House, said: "We are delighted that The Inspire Choir will be performing here as part of this special day. Many of our visitors are in this age range and we thought they might like some music to inspire them.

"The event is not seated or ticketed as we want our visitors to enjoy the music as they move around the house so the performances may take place anywhere in the house."

Also, on offer in the tearoom as part of the Older People’s promotion, will be free pancakes for the over 60s if they buy a hot drink from the tearoom.
