its treatment of travelling families in Banff.

Councillor John Cox is outraged that they face being kicked out of a site where they have been respected regulars to Banff for the past 25 years.

He is also angry that council officials ignored calls from both him and leading councillor, Sydney Mair, that proposals for the Greenbanks Travellers’ Site should first be discussed by the Banff and Buchan area committee.

Instead, letters were sent out by the council to alarmed site regulars informing them of possible rent increases and of a plan to turn the site into a short-term stopping place for travellers and gypsies.
