Firefighters called to Macduff Harbour boat blaze

Fire crews were called to Macduff Harbour on Thursday afternoon to tackle a boat blaze on the slipway.

Four fire engines and an aerial appliance rushed to the incident at the town's shipyards, which saw the surrounding roads closed off.

There were no casualties reported as a result of the blaze.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "We got the first call at 3.53pm on Thursday afternoon.

"It was at the shipyards in Macduff and there was a boat on fire in the slipway.

"There were four appliances in attendance and they came from Macduff, Banff, Portsoy and Turriff; and an aerial appliance from Aberdeen Central. There were no reports of casualties."
