Four fire engines and an aerial appliance rushed to the incident at the town's shipyards, which saw the surrounding roads closed off.
There were no casualties reported as a result of the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "We got the first call at 3.53pm on Thursday afternoon.
"It was at the shipyards in Macduff and there was a boat on fire in the slipway.
"There were four appliances in attendance and they came from Macduff, Banff, Portsoy and Turriff; and an aerial appliance from Aberdeen Central. There were no reports of casualties."
