Body found on Orkney believed to be missing Cullen man

A BODY believed to be that of missing Cullen man Alan Murray has been found on Orkney.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 9.10 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2022, the body of a man was discovered on the beach near to Northfield Road, Burray, Orkney.

“Formal identification has still to take place however the family of Alan James Murray (54) from Cullen, who has been missing since February 26, 2022, has been informed of the discovery.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”

Mr Murray's disappearance sparked a large, multi-agency search.

The local community banded together in large numbers to conduct their own search in the days following reports of him going missing.
